Vol. 1: Is the self-help industry playing off the need for outside validation?

Before I can ask what are we healing from, we have to collectively agree on how we define healing, but before that, we have to address the elephant in the room.

Yes, the self-help industry is playing off the need for outside validation. The industry uses perfectism to keep clients in consistent feelings of needing to be fixed. They use the tactic of fixing this one thing about yourself to be worthy of what you desire. Packaged in this idea that you are healing yourself, but in reality, you are continuing to regret yourself in your authenticity. The true journey is self-validation, through being our confirmation and saying yes to ourselves we find our true worthiness. We show up in the world imperfectly authentic and because we accept ourselves others accept us too.

Chronicles of Change Podcast
Welcome to my audio diary filled with my thoughts on the journey of self-discovery. I call this podcast exclusive Hood Therapy, for multiple reasons.
One of those reasons is my connection and history with the name, on the East Coast I cultivated a space for the neighbor-HOOD to come vibe once a month to independent artists performing with a live band while we participated in creative outlet activities.
The second reason, my book is titled, 'Un-trap da Hood,' it's only right to offer hood therapy to the culture for just $5 a month. Can't beat these prices!
In all seriousness, I wanted to cultivate a space that felt nostalgic like home for those a part of black culture. This space is for real and honest conversations about our community by broadcasting awareness on the issues swept under the rug for too long. This therapy is for the ones that signed up to break generational curses, by any means necessary!
